About Me

About Me

Hello!

My name is Josue Mota. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio but currently reside in Columbus, Ohio. I am majoring in Industrial Design at The Ohio State University, where  I am a Morrill Scholar and Latine Success Scholar.

Design has always been a way for me to connect emotion with form. My creativity is rooted in feeling joy, sorrow, love, and I express it through projects, painting, jewelry, and performance. My Mexican heritage shapes how I see and create; its colors, textures, and traditions are woven into my perspective. A visit to my family in Mexico reminded me how culture and innovation coexist through the vibrant streets, the textiles, the inventive food carts; all designed with intention and heart. That experience deepened my passion for creating work that honors culture while meeting the needs of modern life. Through design, I aim to build meaningful connections and tell stories that resonate across communities.
